If you've left your heart in San Francisco...

Contributor Post from Megan at Room6

I was lucky to spend quite a bit of time in San Fran growing up and it's still one of my favorite cities, so I was instantly smitten with the new collection of San Francisco inspired prints by the husband and wife team at Lab Partners in California. This is the first city in a new series from Sarah & Ryan called Next Stop, which celebrates all the wonderful spots around the globe.

Leaf & Orla Kiely's Garden Retreat

Contributor Post from Megan at Room6

Did you guys catch the lovely Orla Kiely artisan garden retreat from the Chelsea Flower Show over on Apartment Therapy last week? I could spend some quality time in that "shed".

While looking for a photo credit for the Orla Kiely bike shot, I discovered a new-to-me digital magazine called Leaf. Their Spring 2012 issue is online here.

Pretty Patterns & Pillows from Imogen Heath

Contributor post from Megan at Room6

I love the geometric shapes and pastels from UK based surface and pattern designer Imogen Heath, but I'm equally drawn to her pretty florals. It's a refreshing mix, don't you think? Looks like Imogen also has a lovely blog filled with inspiration.

About Imogen: Combining her training as a weaver and print designer, with many years of experience selling textiles and pattern designs to global fashion and interior companies, Imogen decided the time was right to start up her own design business in June 2011, with the support of the Princes Trust.

In July 2011 Imogen launched her first small range of home decoration product at the New Designers One Year On exhibition, which was immediately snapped up by the Design Museum. Soon after this exhibition, Imogen was asked to design an exclusive range of cushions for Heals for their spring 2012 collection.

Planter Love!

Contributor Post from Megan at Room6

Recently I've learned that even I can keep plants alive and I've been on the hunt for some pretty new planters to mix in with my vintage collection. Aren't these new stoneware hanging & tabletop planters from J Schatz lovely?

They're available in several gorgeous hues which makes the decision making process very difficult. Help! Handmade in their NY studio since 2004.

Crates: A New Modular Storage System from Quirky

Have you seen this cute little modular system called Crates? Just launched today, it and its various accessories were designed and developed by the Quirky online community, a social product development company from sketch to store in just 100 days. Quirky makes invention accessible by partnering with creative people around the world to help them bring their ideas to life. Their products are developed in collaboration with hundreds of their online community members from around the world. The reinvention of the milk crate was the dream of Jenny Drinkard, a 25 year old design student from Atlanta, GA with the help of 1791 influencers from the Quirky community.

There are 10 accessories to customize your storage system including metal casters for mobility or wooden legs to keep it steady. Cord clips manage your cables and hooks are available for hanging items like headphones and keys. There are separate drawers and shelves to keep things organized or add the corkboard and dry erase side panels to post notes, photos and messages. You can even add a cushion to turn your crate into seat.

Beginning July 1st, Crates will be available in Quirky's online store and at select Target locations. Crates is sold for $19.99 and each accessory will be sold separately. Check out www.quirky.com/crate for more info on the project.

Grow Your Own

Contributor Post from Megan at Room6

The folks at Bold & Noble in England have just released Grow Your Own Calendar prints in a beautiful emerald green and slate blue (above) so you can keep track of what needs doing when (in England anyway.)

I'm also drawn to the Limited Edition Foil Blocked London type prints available in Gold, Silver and Bronze and their Olympic themed Faster, Higher, Stronger prints which would make lovely souvenirs from the upcoming Olympic games.
