Dispatches from Austin: Texas Roundup

Contributor post by Tracy Castro of Fair Morning Blue

Broken Bus by Joel Ganucheau
Hey there! I am writing to you from the midway point of an extended road trip across the US with my family. Though we are having a wonderful summer together, I find myself increasingly homesick for the Lone Star State. I miss the big blue Texas sky, breakfast tacos and spring fed swimming pools. I find myself scouring Etsy and Pinterest for pretty things that remind me of home. So, I decided to pop in and share a few of my favorite local Austin finds. Austinites will recognize the Lone Star bus, above, from its perennial spot in the parking lot of my favorite honky tonk, the Broken Spoke.
The Lola - Hand-sewn Bison Leather Clutch by Cambria Handmade
Road Sign I by Callen Thompson
Austin Live Music Cow Card by Letterpress Delicacies
Brass Chevron Triangle Layering Necklace by Son of a Sailor
The Sign - Austin, Texas print by Christy Miers
Topo Chico Glassware by Marfa Brands
It seems like everyone I know in Austin spends the summer drinking Topo Chico carbonated mineral water. Marfa Brands had the brilliant idea of up cycling these old Topo Chico bottles from Mexico into glassware. The rims have been cut and polished so that the old bottles can have a second life as drinking glasses. Marfa Brands even offers the choice of ordering an especially weathered (Muy Rustico) set for the same price.

Have I made you yearn for Austin the way I do? Or maybe inspired you to add a touch of Texas charm to your life? I'd love to hear what little things remind you most of home when you're away.
