Happy Canada Day + Sunday Reading!

It's Canada Day here today and so I have a heap of Canadian things for our Sunday reading post!  Starting off with Mjlk: Volume 1 - a new project by the folks at Mjlk out of Toronto.  Inspired by Japanese shop and gallery catalogs, owners Juli & John have created their first Volume of what they hope to be many publications over the coming years. Available to be purchased here.

And I couldn't help but mention these pretty terrariums I spotted over at Bookhou's blog that adam made (from Crown Flora Studio) that were at at the junction flea a bit back.  Arounna tells us on her blog that they are now carrying them at their shop.

Also fun, I spotted these Oh Canada buttons over at The Regional Assembly of Text - something to wear and share.  I love that.

In my patriot mode I created a new board over at Pinterest  called "Made In Canada" which I hope will be a constant growing collection of beautiful things made here.  Click here or on the image below to see.

And finally after running into this treat of a short film this past week from the National Film Board of Canada - I thought it would be a fun little diversion to celebrate our country. The Railrodder by Gerald Potter stars Buster Keaton as he crosses Canada from east to west on a railway track speeder. I remember seeing this as a kid on TV and thought back then it was sort of hilarious - the scenes of him cooking, doing laundry on this tiny little speeder. Not a word is spoken throughout as he putt-putts his way to British Columbia. Lots of beautiful scenery and sort of Mr. Bean-like circa 1965. (approx. 25 min). Related:  There's also a little black and white documentary on the filming of this film here.  Happy Canada Day and Happy Sunday!
